Grasshoppers top the Rome Braves, 11-4

ROME, Ga. -- The Rome Braves were defeated by the Greensboro Grasshoppers Tuesday by a score of 11-4.

Greensboro hopped on the board in the first inning with two runs by way of a sacrifice fly by Felix Munoz and an RBI single by Avery Romero. A run scoring triple by Kentrell Dewitt and a two-run homer by Austin Dean in the second made it a 5-0 game. The Grasshoppers added three more runs in the third for the 8-0 lead.

The Braves posted two runs in the fourth on a run scoring double by Jake Schrader and an RBI ground out by Victor Reyes for the 8-2 score. Greensboro went on to win the contest 11-4 while getting 16 hits in the game.

Ryan Newell (1-2) gets his first win of the season while Carlos Salazar (0-2) picks up the loss.
