Falcons Welcome Rookies and Undrafted Free Agents

Flowery Branch, Ga -- The Atlanta Falcons welcomed the team's draft picks and undrafted free agents to the team's complex in Flowery Branch for Mini Camp. It is the first taste of the National Football League for these young players drafted or signed out of college just a week ago. Coach Mike Smith says its as much fun for the coaches to be back on the field working with young talent. When talking about offensive tackle Jake Matthews the 6th overall pick in the draft Smitty says:" Jake is very mature, not only physically, but mentally in terms of knowing the game of football."

"I've been picking up on it" Matthews said after the workout, " I"m learning it (blocking schemes). It's a big adjustment from college that's for sure."

One player who is trying to make an impression is offensive tackle Dallas Lee. Lee played at nearby Buford High School and the University of Georgia. We spoke with Dallas after the workout. The Falcons mini camp will run through Sunday in Flowery Branch.
