Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox activated outfielder Cody
Ross from the 15-day disabled list and placed outfielder Scott Podsednik on
the 15-day DL, retroactive to Monday, with a left groin strain.
Ross had been originally ruled out indefinitely with a small fracture in his
left foot in late May, and was placed on the DL shortly thereafter.
Prior to the setback, he batted .271 with eight homers and 28 RBI in 37 games
for Boston this season.
Podsednik was hurt on Sunday night in Chicago. He was hitting .387 with one
home run, three doubles and seven RBI in 19 games since being recalled to the
majors on May 22.
