Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Colorado Rockies second baseman Marco Scutaro
was forced to leave Monday's game in the sixth inning after getting hit in the
head with a pitch.
Following Dexter Fowler's leadoff triple, Nationals pitcher Stephen
Strasburg's next pitch -- a 95 mile-per-hour fastball -- struck Scutaro in the
front of the helmet.
Scutaro fell to the ground and quickly stood up under his own power, but he
was forced to leave the game after getting looked at by a trainer.
Chris Nelson replaced Scutaro as a pinch-runner.
