(Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks will try to snap a four-game losing
steak on Wednesday night when they welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to the
Bradley Center.
The Bucks have actually dropped six of their last seven and their last defeats
were ones not to be proud of. Milwaukee lost to the Detroit Pistons on
Saturday and the Washington Wizards on Monday and both losses came at home.
Against the Wizards, who had three road wins all season, Washington took an
eight-point lead into the half, then won the fourth quarter, 28-19, to get the
102-90 victory.
"I thought we had a bunch of good looks, but just couldn't make them," said
Bucks interim head coach Jim Boylan. "Anytime you shoot 37 percent, it's going
to be a rough night for you, especially when the other team is shooting over
50 (percent)."
The Wizards shot an astounding 56.8 percent from the field, which is the high
for a Bucks opponent this season.
"Our defense was terrible," remarked Boylan.
The Bucks shot 37 percent from the field, 21 percent from the 3-point line and
59 percent from the foul line. Monta Ellis, Ersan Ilyasova and Mike Dunleavy
were the only Bucks in double figures.
Larry Sanders missed his third consecutive game with a lower back injury.
The Sixers will try to quickly erase Monday's home loss to the Los Angeles
Clippers. Philly got trounced, 107-90, but the lead reached 30 before the
Clippers starters were pulled.
"We can't look at this," head coach Doug Collins said. "There's going to be
times when teams come in and play great. We've got to go to Milwaukee and
we've got to be ready to play. Let's not check out for All-Star week."
Nick Young led the Sixers with 29 points and Evan Turner, Jrue Holiday and
newly-signed Jeremy Pargo all scored 10 points.
But the Clippers shot 59 percent from the field and 42 percent from the 3-
point line.
The Sixers completed an eight-game homestand at 5-3 and their last road game
before the long stay at home was a 110-102 setback in Milwaukee on Jan. 22.
Philly is 6-15 away from the Wells Fargo Center this season and Wednesday's
contest will be the Sixers last before the All-Star break.
Holiday will be in Houston as a first-time All Star.
The Bucks have beaten the Sixers in both of this season's meetings and
Philadelphia is 1-4 in its last five games in Milwaukee.
