Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Toronto FC has acquired forwards Eric Hassli
and Quincy Amarikwa in trades with Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Red Bull New

in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft and an international roster spot through next year.
TFC then acquired Amarikwa from New York on Saturday morning for a conditional
The 31-year-old Hassli joins Toronto as a designated player. He had 12 goals
and five assists in 44 matches for Vancouver.
"Adding a player of Eric's ability gives an immediate improvement to our
club," said Toronto FC coach and director of soccer operations Paul Mariner.

The 24-year-old Amarikwa was recently claimed off waivers by New York. He was
with the Colorado Rapids to start the season, and played the last two seasons
for the club. He scored three goals in 31 appearances for Colorado.
"Quincy is a hard worker, with great athletic abilities and a positive
attitude," Mariner said. "That's what we look for in all our players. We feel
he will fit in with our club nicely."
Hassli and Amarikwa will help fill a void left by a season-ending injury to
leading scorer Danny Koevermans. He tore his ACL recently, and will miss the
remainder of the season. Koevermans had nine goals this year.
Toronto FC returns to action July 28 at BMO Field against the Houston Dynamo.
