ATLANTA -- A crowd of 33,025 filed in SunTrust Park to witness the Georgia Bulldogs play the Missouri Tigers. It was the second-largest baseball crowd in NCAA history.
It was only the second baseball event at the Atlanta Braves' new stadium in Cobb County. The first was a spring training exhibition game on March 31 in which the Braves beat the New York Yankees 8-5.
The Bulldogs lost to the Tigers 6-1 as junior Trey Harris hit a three-run home run in the top of the fourth. Harris is a graduate from McEachern High School, which is about 15 miles west of SunTrust Park. Since the first Braves game at the park was an exhibition game, Mizzou is calling Harris' long ball the first official home run at SunTrust Park.
Adam Sasser hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second to score Michael Curry for the Bulldogs' lone run.
