Chris Holcomb is the Chief Meteorologist on 11Alive. Chris has been a meteorologist at 11Alive for more than 24 years.
In 2007, Chris received the upgraded "Certified Broadcast Meteorologist" designation from the American Meteorological Society. Before that, Chris held the AMS Seal of Approval since 1997.
Chris is a native Atlantan! He grew up in "a touch of country in the city" . . . Doraville!
After graduating from DeKalb's Sequoyah High School, he went to the UGA Journalism School majoring in Broadcast News.
After graduating from UGA, he started working in Macon, Georgia at WMAZ-TV reporting during the week and forecasting weather on the weekends.
Chris furthered his meteorological education with Mississippi State University.
Chris is the only TV meteorologist in Atlanta who was actually born here. As a native Atlantan and a lifelong Georgia resident, Chris has experienced all kinds of crazy Georgia weather from blizzards, ice storms, hurricanes, to floods and tornadoes.
