Jeremy Campbell is an Emmy award-winning Multi Media Journalist, which means at 11 Alive he shoots, writes and edits his own stories.

Campbell has worked as a "one person news crew" everywhere from the coast of California to the South Lawn of the White House to the source of the Nile River. He has walked through fire, swam with sharks and jumped out of a plane all in the name of news.

His dream almost came true when when he toured the inside of Space Shuttle Atlantis, shooting video from the commander's chair. Unfortunately the shuttle did not accidentally launch while he was at the helm... but the story was an experience he'll never forget.

Campbell's reporting career began with Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He was working behind-the-scenes at WGNO in New Orleans when he shot a documentary about life after the storm. That led to a Reporter/Anchor position at KLFY in Lafayette, LA.

Since then he reported live from the Obama Inaugural in Washington D.C. and from both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in 2008 and 2012. While at WTVT Tampa his series, "Stories from Uganda," was honored with the National Association of Black Journalists' International Reporting award.

At WBMA in Birmingham he received the Murrow Award for Feature Reporting for a story about a tornado that destroyed his family's home. He was also named "Best Reporter" in the state by the Alabama Broadcasters Association. Campbell won a similar award from the Associated Press in Florida. He's won Emmys for Writing, Videojournalism and Photography.

While at Auburn University, Campbell worked full time at an independent station, WSWS. He created and co-hosted "The Night Show," featuring Cyndi Lauper, Liz Phair, The Flaming Lips, The Cardigans and many other entertainers on location in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Birmingham and New Orleans.

Currently Campbell serves on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Southeastern Chapter.

When he's not looking for a good story to tell on 11Alive's morning show you'll find him searching for coffee shops, indie rock or the newest restaurant in his West Midtown neighborhood.
