CARMEL, IN (The Tennessean) -- Do you feel like Peter Frampton does about audience members filming concerts on their smartphones? Many of the Nashville rocker's fans are applauding him for his response to one such individual at his concert in Carmel, Ind., on Sunday.
According to an online concert review by Jeff Davis(which Frampton endorsed on his social media accounts), a man seated in the front row was filming on his phone throughout the show, despite a preshow announcement that shooting video was forbidden. He was also specifically asked to stop several times during the performance. Finally, Frampton had enough.
Davis writes that Frampton "grabbed the phone from the guy's hand and heaved it at least 150 feet behind the stage while never missing a chord. And the show rolled on to thunderous applause…"
Frampton added his thoughts via Facebook on Tuesday, writing "Many thanks to the eyewitnesses who came forward to explain how annoying "Team Distraction" actually were. And not just to me but everyone (around) them."
