From landscaping for beautifying the school grounds to giving brighter look to the building, the School Crashers effort is aimed at giving the school a makeover.

The School Crashers' makeover of Chapel Hill Elementary is underway!

"This school is where I got my start," said Brandi Marshall, a former student who volunteered to help with the School Crashers effort. "I can't do anything but love it. I pass here on the way to my parent's house. Of course, I had to come here today and help out."

The idea for School Crashers came from Georgia United Credit Union. When the call for interest went out, a whopping 750 nominations came in from all over the metro area, including Coilette Murray, whose child will attend second grade at the school. She said she was excited for her child to see the makeover.

Principal Lawanzer Smith is also excited.

"A happy, bright, cheerful environment," said Principal Lawanzer Smith. "That will yield happy, bright, cheerful learners, so it means everything in the world. And, my babies are going to have it when they come back."

During the weekend, five runner-up schools will learn they will also get School Crasher makeovers.
