ATHENS, Ga. -- Police in Athens have arrested two teenagers for shooting an 11-year-old girl with a BB gun.

Charles Anthony Horton, 18, of Winterville and Josh Carney, 17, of Athens were charged with aggravated assault and could face charges in other shootings.

The 11-year-old'sgrandmothersaidthegirlwas shot while the two were walking down Cedar Shoals Drive on Sunday.

The grandmother said the girl cried out in pain"Something got me!"The twocame forward after seeing news reports of other BB gunshootings in the Athens areaover the weekend.

Athens-Clarke County police said aman was driving his pickup truck Saturday morning when the driver of an oncoming car reportedlyshot at his driver's side window and shattered it.

Another man jogging Sunday afternoon felt a pain in his thigh and later realized a BB was embedded in his leg.

Police are still investigating the other incidents and say additional charges against Horton and Carney are pending.

Police Capt. Clarence Holeman said the gun is powerful enough that its BBs could penetrate an eye or a soft spot on a person's head, causing serious injury or death.
