ATLANTA -- Delta Air Lines will hold a memorial service Tuesday for former CEO David Garrett, who passed away June 2 at age 89.
The service will begin at 11 a.m. at the Delta Air Lines Transport Heritage Museum's Hangar Two.
Garrett, who served Delta for four decades, was CEO from 1978 until his retirement in 1987. He remained on Delta's board until 1994.
"(Garrett) was a great leader of Delta and we are sad at his passing but so thankful for the great legacy he left behind at Delta," Delta CEO Richard Anderson said in a statement. "From the Delta family, we extend our condolences to his family."
In lieu of flowers, Garrett's family asks that donations be sent to the Presbyterian Home of Georgia.
