ROSWELL, Ga. -- Two police officers investigating a domestic dispute were injured when a suspect fleeing the scene hit themwith his car early Wednesday, according to Roswell Police spokesman Lt. James McGee.

McGee said the incident happened just after midnight at the Jefferson at Champions Parkway Apartments on Preakness Drive.

The officers were interviewing a woman who'd gotten into a fight with her boyfriend when McGee said the boyfriend, 32-year-old Keon Patterson,returned to the scene. As the officers were attempting to talk to Patterson, he backed up, hitting both officers, according to McGee.

McGee said the suspect left the apartment complex and was arrested shortly afterward at a nearby Waffle House.

Both officers were treated for minor injuries on the scene.

Lt. McGee saidPatterson faces charges that include obstruction and assault on a police officer.
