NORTH ATLANTA -- DeKalb police officers answering a domestic dispute call to a townhouse on Skyland Drive Northeast at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, shot a man they said was threatening them with a gun.

As the two officers were talking to a woman inside the house, police said her boyfriend came downstairs with a gun pointed to his own head. Police quoted the man as saying, "This will not end well."

One of the officers took the woman outside while the other talked to the armed man. Police said when the man pointed his weapon at the officer, he was shot twice in the chest.

The man is being treated at a hospital. Police did not release his name, nor those of the officers.
