Thousands of spectators and volunteersjoinedroughly60,000 runners in carryingon the local traditionWednesday.
First-time Peachtree participant Peter Kirui of Kenya finished the 10Kfirst with anunofficial time of27:36. Last year's winner, Sammy Kitwara of Kenya, came in eighth.
Mamitu Daska of Ethiopia was the firstfemale runner across the finish line with an unofficial time of 32:21.

In the wheelchair division, Aaron Gordian won the men's race and for the third year in a row, Tatyana McFadden won the women'srace.
This year, 13 people were transported to local hospitals in connection with the Peachtree, according to Grady Health System spokeswoman Denise Simpson.
There had been fears that more people would needmedical attention if the region's record heat carried through to race day, but scattered stormsTuesday helped cooltemperatures down.More storms are expected Wednesday afternoon and evening.
