Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Jets are showing theircommitment to retaining restricted free agent forward Evander Kane.

The Free Press reported on Tuesday that Kane, the club's leading goal scorerlast season, has been offered a $29 million deal over six years.

Kane, who will turn 21 in early August, totaled 30 goals and 57 points andlogged a career-high plus-11 in 74 games for Winnipeg in 2011-12, the finalyear of his initial entry-level contract.

In 213 games, all with the Thrashers/Jets franchise, the Vancouver native hasracked up 63 goals and 63 assists.
