The first-time Olympian and University of Georgia alumnus defeated Tunesia's Malek Jaziri, 7-6(1), 6-2. He beat Belgium's Olivier Rochus 7-6(1), 6-4 on Saturday.
Isner's next match will be against Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic on Wednesday. Match time will be set Tuesday evening.
Isner is the first University of Georgia tennis player to make an Olympic team. While at UGA, he was a four-time All-American and led the Bulldogs to the 2007 NCAA championship. He still holds the UGA record for career wins in both singles (143) and doubles (140), according to UGA sports spokeswoman Kate Burkholder.
