ATLANTA -- Police from Atlanta and Georgia Tech have teamed up to solve an early morning pedestrian robbery.
The victim told investigators that three men stole his MacBook at around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to Atlanta Police spokesman Curtis Davenport.
The victim said he was sitting on the air conditioning unit behind his Merritts Avenue apartment, working on his MacBook when the suspects approached. One of them produced a gun and asked the victim to give up his computer and any other valuables he was carrying, Davenport said.
As the victim tried to take off his bracelet to give it up, one of the suspects received a cell phone call, which distracted him, Davenport said. The three men ran away toward Pine Street with just the MacBook.
The victim was not injured. Police canvassed the area, but Davenport said they could not find the suspects.
The victim described the person who took his MacBook as a black man in his 20s, about 5-feet-8-inches tall and 110 to 120 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and a black band around his head.
