ATLANTA -- Cobb County Police will close a portion of Interstate 285 this weekend as they reconstruct an fatal accident that happened during Thursday evening's rush hour.
Some lanes of eastbound I-285 just west of the Chattahoochee River bridge will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.
The accident happened at around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, when one of three vehicles involved made an improper lane change and started a chain reaction collision.

A tractor trailer was involved in the wreck. Its driver was not injured, nor was the driver of a Lexus that collided with the tractor trailer.
After hitting the tractor trailer, the Lexus slammed into a pickup truck, which flipped several times. Its driver, 50-year-old Enio Tejada of Lawrenceville, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Tejada's passenger was pronounced dead at the scene; his name has not been released, pending notification of his family.
