ATLANTA, Ga. -- The northside showdown of the Central Gwinnett Black Knights and the Collins Hill Eagles leads the rundown for Week 2 of Friday Night Alive.

While the Black Knights and Eagles both call Lawrenceville home, meetings on the gridiron are rare as they play in different regions. The last meeting between Central and Collins Hill took place in the 2007 playoffs, with the Black Knights winning 17-14. Both teams want to start the season on a winning note -- Collins Hill posted a 5-6 record in 2011, while Central Gwinnett finished 4-6.

We will be on the southside where defending state champion Sandy Creek will open the 2012 season at Banneker. And West Paces Ferry will be busy with Lovett hosting Blessed Trinity and St. Pius visiting Westminster.

We will also seetwo schools make their varsity footballdebuts as B.E.S.T Academy plays Cross Keys and Cambridge welcomes Riverwood.

These are just some of the games we plan to highlight, along with scores, feature stories, plus the cheerleaders from Stockbridge and band from Stephenson.

That's Friday Night Aliveat 10:30pm on MYATL-TV and on 11Alive News at 11pm.
