FAIRBURN, Ga. -- A Fairburn woman with dementia who vanished Sunday evening has been found safe.
Ella Gowdy, 59, was last seen at around 6:30 p.m. near Roosevelt Highway, according to Fairburn Police spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bazydlo. She was reported missing at around 8:30 p.m.
Bazydlo said Gowdy was found in an industrial area near Highway 74. Someone who heard a news report about a missing woman spotted Gowdy and called police.
The woman was not injured, Bazydlo said. Gowdy was evaluated at the scene and then reunited with her family.
