FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons' offense lived up to expectations in the season-opening rout of Kansas City.
Now, to keep it going.
The Falcons had all the same weapons a year ago, but the offense struggled to maintain consistency over the course of the season. The offense sure looked good in a 40-24 victory over the Chiefs, scoring on its first eight possessions before finally punting late in the game.
Second-year receiver Julio Jones looks poised for a huge year, making six receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Matt Ryan had a big day, throwing for 299 yards and three TDs. The Falcons struggled to run the ball, but center Todd McClure says that's just a matter of taking what the defense gives.
Next up: Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
