DECATUR, Ga. -- MARTA reopened the Kensington Station early Monday morning after a shooting involving two customers on Sunday night.

A MARTA spokesman said the shooting happened at 8:40 p.m. during a confrontation between two customers on the westbound train platform.

One of the customers pulled out a gun and shot the other one, according to Lyle Harris of MARTA.

The victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition. The gunman was detained.

Harris said no one else was hurt.

"Sundays typically don't tend to be a busy time for MARTA," Harris said. "I'm not sure how many others were in the area at the time, but no one else was in any danger."

Harris did not release the gunman's name, age or details of any charges.

MARTA police shut down the train station for several hours. Customers had to use a bus bridge to get from the Avondale Station to Indian Creek.

Kensington Station reopened on Monday morning in time for the morning commute.
