PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- With the burning season beginning on October 1, and running through April 2013, Peachtree City residents must now obtain a burn permit for natural year debris burning.

To obtain a permit, people of Peachtree City may apply online, or in person at Station 82 of 105 N. Peachtree Parkway.

A burn permit is only valid for the day on which it is issued. Peachtree City urges residents to use extreme caution while burning, especially while Fayette County is in an "Exceptional" drought rating.

For questions on safety and fire burning procedures, contact the Peachtree City Fire Marshall's Office at (770) 631-2526.
