LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- More than 200 volunteers of Gwinnett Tech faculty, staff and students are preparing for the Gwinnett Great Days of Service outreach event.
On Friday, October 5, the group of volunteers will work on six projects, which range from landscaping, helping at local schools and packaging and sorting clothes at Streetwise Georgia.
According to Dan Urrutia of Gwinnett Tech, Streetwise Georgia offers physical, emotional, mental and spiritual tools to help people stabilize their lives when living below poverty level.
Schools included in the outreach day are Sweetwater Middle, Anderson Livesy Elementary, Beaver Ridge Elementary and Kahnoheda Elementary.
"We have volunteer teams participating from virtually every area of campus and from many programs - Student Life, Early Childhood Education, Construction and, of course, our own landscape team," Regina Vella, director of institutional advancement for Gwinnett Tech said.
