ATLANTA --Buford Highway has reopened near Dresden Drive.

A broken fire hydrant shut down all lanes of the roadway, which is just south of DeKalb-PeachtreeAirport, for nearly two hours Thursday morning.

At around 6 a.m, a vehicle hit a fire hydrant, which sent water shooting across the roadway. It kept spraying until just before 7:45 a.m., when itwas capped off.

That stretch of Buford Highway isa popularroute for drivers who want toavoid Interstate 85.
