VILLA RICA, Ga. -- Villa Rica's International Component Repair (ICR) has announced that it will create joint venture with IHI Corporation of Japan.

This will be the first Japanese aerospace affiliated production facility in the United States, according to an ICR spokesperson. The partnership will create an investment strategy, starting with existing and new client businesses for fuel diverter valves, including phase I and engine overhauls of commercial jet engines in the upcoming phase II.

Also within the phases, 25 jobs will open for Villa Rica and the West Metro Atlanta area.

Wayne Dewell, President/CEO of ICR, said, "This is a big step for ICR and IHI as it will enhance IHI's ability to support current North American customers and further enhance the possibility of supporting additional domestic airlines."

ICR and IHI each have significant industry ties to Delta and the client base at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport,a spokesperson said.

Carroll Tomorrow, Carroll County economic development organization and the Georgia Department of Economic Developmentbegan the projectin thefall of 2011, withnegotiationsbetween IHI officials in Dubai, Tokyo and Villa Rica.

The 40,000-square-foot joint venture facility is located at 330 West Industrial Court in Villa Rica with production slated to commence this fall.
