DULUTH, Ga. -- The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners plans to discuss Tuesday a proposed "headquarters hotel" at the Gwinnett Center, reports the Gwinnett Daily Post.

The agenda for Tuesday's work session contains an item calling for the "approval/authorization for the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau to formulate a recommendation with regard to the lease of a portion" of Gwinnett Center property for a headquarters hotel, the newspaper reports.

If approved, the deal would bring a full-service, 300-room Marriott to the Gwinnett Center property at Sugarloaf Parkway and Satellite Boulevard.

No community buy-in would be necessary, officials have said, the newspaper reports.
