ATLANTA --While Megan Ladner recovers from the serious injury she suffered when the parade float she and her husband were riding on was struck by a train in Texas last week, 11Alive's Help Desk and the community are working together to help the family during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Megan and her husband Shane, an Iraq veteran and Holly Springs police officer,now have a long roadto recovery. With their family staying close by while they recover, "Georgia Generosity" moved into full swing around them.

The Park 75 Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown Atlanta will deliver a full-course turkey Thanksgiving dinner to the family--the same menu being served in the restaurant,with all the trimmings.
In addition, a dozen Atlanta restaurants near the hospital --Fox Brothers BBQ,The Real Chow Baby, D.B.A. Barbecue, Diesel Filling Station,P'cheen Internatinal Bistro & Pub,Hudson North,Cypress Street Pint and Plate,Cucina Asellina,Woody's Cheesesteaks,Genki Noodles and Sushi,The Albert and The Highland Bakery --are all giving the family gift cards totaling almost $700, so the family can eat out as often as they wish.
Chick-fil-A and Starbucks, who both have locations at the Atlanta Medical Center, have given the family gift cards.
"We gave three Chick-fil-A gift cards worth $100 each with no expiration date, which can be used and can be used at any Chick-fil-A, system-wide with lots of flexibility," said Chick-fil-A's Jerry Johnston.
"A $100 gift card for Starbucks and some coffee and assorted pastries," said Starbucks' Jason Bonafede. "We are happy to help."
While the family remains atAtlanta Medical Center, The Home Depot is organizing its volunteer force and preparing to build Megan Ladner a special ramp along with making changes inside the house to accommodate her needs.
Home Depot says they hope to begin work just after Thanksgiving and have the house ready by Christmas.
