ATLANTA -- Kia Motors America will be a founding partner for Atlanta's College Football Hall of Fame, which is set to open in 2014.

Financial terms to the long-term marketing partnership were not disclosed.

Kia, which has a plant in West Point, Ga., will be designated the "Official Automotive Partner" of the College Football Hall of Fame with prominent exposure in high visibility initiatives, in addition to displays and branding opportunities.

"With the new College Football Hall of Fame about to break ground in downtown Atlanta, Kia was presented with an extraordinary opportunity to reach passionate college football fans and expand our strategic sports marketing initiatives, while raising awareness, perception and consideration for the Kia Brand, literally from the ground up," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of marketing and communications for Kia Motors America, in a statement.

Plans currently call for a 94,000-square-foot Hall of Fame, including a football field that will serve as an event space. There will be about 30,000 square feet of exhibit space. It will be adjacent to the Georgia World Congress Center and Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.
