SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- Sandy Springs Police are investigating a freak traffic accident in which a Marietta man was seriously injured after a large circular saw blade came crashing through his windshield.
Henry Rodriguez says he was driving westbound on I-285 Tuesday afternoon when he felt a sharp pain in his forehead. He noticed he was bleeding from a cut above his eye and from a deep gash on his arm.
"It felt like someone hit me on the head with a baseball bat," Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez said he struggled to steer his car onto the shoulder while bleeding profusely.
Paramedics rushed Rodriguez to North Fulton Medical Center where doctors treated his injuries. Rodriguez says the saw blade severed the tendons in his arm and may require surgery to repair.
Police are investigating the accident but say they don't know where the saw blade came from.
