ATLANTA -- On the 84th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King'sbirthday, the Fulton County Youth Commissioners and community partnerswill throw an Anti-Bullying and Violence Prevention Rally.
OnJanuary 15, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., the rally will be held at the MartinLuther King Auditorium on Auburn Avenue. Along with the Metro AtlantaViolence Prevention Program, HOT 107.9 radio, and the Music EducationGroup, the Fulton County Youth Commissioners hope the rally will raiseawareness of how damaging bullying is to all people of local schools andareas within the community.
According to a spokesperson forthe Fulton County Government, 23 percent of schools reported thatbullying occurred among students either daily or weekly in 2009-2012.The highest rate was reported for middle school students.
At the rally, the member of the Youth Commissioners will help spread the word of bullying and violence prevention to peers.
