BARROW COUNTY, Ga. -- After executing a search warrant in Barrow County, Sheriff's Investigators made three arrests on Friday, January 4.
According to Lt. Matt Guthas, the warrant was carried out at 413 Midland Avenue in Winder. Investigators were looking for controlled substances. They found drugs, along with other contraband.
Investigators seized just under ten pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated street value of $20,000. They also seized around $3,000 and two guns, a shotgun and a .38 revolver. As Guthas reported, the .38 caliber was stolen in Walton County.
Investigators began work when they received a tip that drugs were being sold at the residence. They soon established a probable cause for warrant after they placed the residence under surveillance.
The Sheriff's Office S.W.A.T. team executed the warrant around 9:00 p.m. Then they entered the residence, two men jumped through the window, and S.W.A.T. arrested the immediately.
The two men have been identified as Charles McDaid, 55, and Darrell Jackson, 29, as well as 22-year-old Mario Peters of Statham.
McDaid faces charges of felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, possession of schedule IV narcotics, felony theft by receiving, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of drug related objects.
Jackson is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, felony theft by receiving, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by convicted felon and obstruction of an officer.
Peters is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and obstruction of an officer.
