(USA Today) -- Wedding bells will be ringing for singer-songwriter-producer Kandi Burruss, who is one of the regular castmembers on Bravo's hit reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Burruss' boyfriend Todd Tucker, whom she met in 2011 while he worked on the production crew of Housewives, popped the question on New Year's Day at their Atlanta home.
"I was totally surprised," Burruss tells Us Weekly about the proposal. But throughout the current season of Housewives, there have been plenty of clues that Tucker was ready to take the next step with Burruss, from their moving into a new mansion together to his building a bond with her 10-year-old daughter Riley.
Burruss, who in addition to music and TV has her own line of, ahem, adult toys, adds that she's thrilled to be a fiancee after years of wondering if she'd find true love.
"I used to make jokes with my friends that I (was) part of the Forever Single Club," she says. "That's what I said before, but now I'm totally different."
