ATLANTA -- Commemorations continued this week in honor of Dr- Martin Luther King, Jr's 84th birthday.

Friday, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services celebrated his birth by welcoming 39 new citizens to the country at a naturalization ceremony.

The event took place at the King Center on Auburn Avenue.

Dr. King's birthday was January 15th, but the nation will celebrate the holiday the 21st.

That's also the same day of President Obama's inauguration.
