Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Geron Johnson led all scorers with 18 points as the Memphis Tigers overcame a halftime deficit to take down the Tulane Green Wave, 71-60, in Conference USA action at FedExForum.
Joe Jackson scored 16 points for Memphis (15-3, 4-0 C-USA), which extended its season-long winning streak to nine games. Chris Crawford added 14 points and six assists, Tarik Black netted 10 points, and D.J. Stephens grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked three shots for the home team.
For Tulane (13-6, 1-3), Ricky Tarrant had 16 points, while Josh Davis tallied a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Tre Drye chipped in 10 points for the Green Wave, who have lost three of four.
In a tight first half, Tulane shot 46.7 percent from the field while Memphis made good on 45.8 percent of its attempts. The Green Wave took a 36-30 lead into intermission thanks in large part to grabbing seven offensive rebounds, which led to seven second chance points.
The Tigers turned it on in the second half, shooting greater than 51 percent from the field. They took the lead, 48-46, on a Black jumper with under 12 minutes to play, and they would never surrender that advantage for the rest of the game on their way to an 11-point triumph.
Memphis scored 14 points off of 17 Tulane turnovers.
