Kingston, RI (Sports Network) - Juvonte Reddic posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Virginia Commonwealth Rams, who made claim to a 70-64 Atlantic 10 Conference win over the Rhode Island Rams at the Ryan Center.
Reddic shot 6-of-10 from the field and of his 12 rebounds, seven were on the offensive glass for VCU (17-5, 5-2 A-10), which ended a two-game slide. Treveon Graham led all scorers with 19 points to go with eight rebounds, while Darius Theus added 11 points and four assists.
For Rhode Island (6-13, 1-5), Xavier Munford led the team with 17 points, although he shot only 6-of-15 from the field and recorded five turnovers. Andre Malone and T.J. Buchanan scored 11 points each, while Jordan Hare tallied 10 points, five rebounds, and three blocks.
VCU shot 46.2 percent from the field in the first half and led 29-28 at the break despite Rhode Island shooting 50.0 percent.
VCU opened up the second half with a 9-2 run to give it enough of a cushion to lead the rest of the way, as the team shot 50.0 percent from the field after intermission.
VCU outscored Rhode Island at the free-throw line, 18-11.
