(WXIA) -- Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino fathered a love child with a CBS production assistant in 2005, according to a report in the New York Post.
The woman, Donna Savattere, is raising the couple's daughter Chloe, the report says.
In a written report to the Post, Marino said, "This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then ... We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved."
Marino has been married to his wife Claire for 28 years. They have six children.
"My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years ... and we continue to be a strong and loving family," he said in the written statement.
Marino has been a pregame analyst for CBS since 2003 and is scheduled to take part in its "Super Bowl Today" telecast this weekend. He retired from the Dolphins in 2000.
