ATHENS, Ga. -- The renowned crisis management expert who inspired the television series "Scandal" is slated to give a lecture at the University of Georgia.
Judy Smith, founder, president and CEO of the crisis management firm Smith & Company, is scheduled to speak Friday to conclude the university's Week of Soul, which also included a lecture by famed poet Maya Angelou.
Aside from her work in crisis management, Smith is also an adviser for numerous Fortune 500 companies, federal agencies and international companies, and served as a deputy press secretary for President George H.W. Bush.
The lecture begins at 8:30 p.m. in the Tate Theater.
Tickets are free for students and $5 for non-students. They will be sold between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Tate Student Center cashier window.
