CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- A vehicle accident in Cartersvillecaused seven injuries on Friday evening, including one deputy.

Captain Mark Camp of the Cartersville Police Department said the accident occurred on Highway 41 (Joe Frank Harris Parkway) and Zena Drive, around 6:30 p.m. The vehicles involved werein the southbound lanes, approaching Home Depot.

Of the seven people injured, four were taken to Cartersville Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. One victim was airlifted to Kennestone Hospital. Three were treated on the scene by EMS.

Sergeant Jonathan Rogers of the Bartow Co. Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations said the deputy involved was not seriously injured.

The names of those involved, and information on the vehicles have not been released.

The scene of the accident is now clear.

Rogers said the Georgia State Patrol is investigating the incident.
