CUMMING, GA - The Georgia Department of Transportation is looking at adding an interchange on Georgia 400 at McGinnis Ferry Road in southern Forsyth County.

If approved by state and federal highway officials, initial design work on the interchange would begin in 2014.

State Transportation Board member Rudy Bowen was very happy with the development.

"This is a long-awaited and much needed interchange," he said in a statement. "The department has spent more than $70 million in recent years upgrading McGinnis Ferry Road and improving east-west mobility for Forsyth, Gwinnett and North Fulton motorists."
