Stanford, CA (Sports Network) - Andre Roberson tallied a career-high 24 points and to go along with eight rebounds as the Colorado Buffaloes held off the Stanford Cardinal, 65-63, in a Pac-12 Conference clash at Maples Pavilion.
Roberson shot 9-of-13 from the field for Colorado (19-8, 9-6 Pac-12), which has gotten hot with wins in five of six. Spencer Dinwiddie added 19 points for the visitors.
For Stanford (16-13, 7-9), Andy Brown logged 17 points and eight boards, Chasson Randle had 16 points and Dwight Powell scored 12 points. Josh Huestis hauled in nine rebounds, while Aaron Bright dished out six assists for the Cardinal, who are trending in the wrong direction with losses in four of five.
After shooting 46.2 percent from the field in the first half, Stanford carried a 32-31 lead into intermission. Colorado shot only 37.9 percent from the floor in the first half, but it kept the game close by making 8-of-9 at the foul line.
The Cardinal gave themselves a cushion by opening up the second half on a 6-0 run, but the Buffs climbed back to take a 47-45 lead with 9:31 left on a Roberson 3-pointer. They continued to lead down the stretch, but a Brown 3- pointer brought Stanford's deficit to just two with seven seconds left. After Dinwiddie missed the front end of a one-and-one, Stanford collected the rebounded but wasn't left with enough time to put up a final attempt.
Colorado outscored Stanford in the paint, 36-22.
