Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Sparked by a 25-point, 10-rebound effort from Kevin Foster, the Fresno State Bulldogs shocked the UNLV Runnin' Rebels at the Thomas & Mack Center, 61-52, in the Mountain West Conference regular- season finale for both squads.
Foster came off the bench to shoot 6-of-9 from 3-point range for Fresno State (11-18, 5-11 MWC), which has won back-to-back games for the first time since early December. Kevin Olekaibe added 13 points and eight assists for the visitors, while Robert Upshaw hauled in 11 rebounds.
UNLV (23-8, 10-6) saw its five-game winning streak come to an end. Anthony Marshall and Mike Moser netted 11 points apiece, with Marshall handing out seven assists and Moser grabbing nine boards.
Fresno State shot a modest 41.9 percent from the field in the first half, but it was red-hot from 3-point range (8-of-12) as it went into the break with a 36-31 lead.
The Bulldogs hung on to their advantage for the entire second half. UNLV made it just a three-point game following a pair of Khem Birch free-throws with 2:24 left, but it would get no closer.
UNLV shot just 33.3 percent from the field, including 4-of-21 from 3-point range.
