ATLANTA -- The man accused of killing a 12 year old in a hit and run accident has turned himself in.
Gatha Maurice Dyer, 43, faces a number of charges, including vehicular homicide, hit and run, DUI, failure to maintain lane and driving on a suspended license.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said Dyer is accused of striking the unidentified child at around 5:30 p.m. Monday. The accident happened at Boulder Park Drive and Brownlee Road in southwest Atlanta.
Dyer later turned himself in to Clayton County police. He is currently being held in the Fulton County Jail.
