LOGANVILLE, Ga. -- The man accused of breaking into a woman's house last January while she and her two young children hid inside a crawl space, has pleaded guilty.
This was a case that made national headlines in the debate over gun control.
The woman was armed at the time and on the phone with her husband who told her to shoot.
Tuesday Paul Slater, was back in court where he confessed just two weeks before his trial was set to start.
The judge sentenced Slater to 20 years for first degree burglary. He has to serve 10 years in prison and 10 on probation.
