FULTON COUNTY -- A Fulton Countypolice officer was injured late Sunday evening when an SUV T-boned his police cruiser on Old National Highway near Hackamore Drive.

Sgt. Scott McBride said the officer was responding to an emergency call when the SUV pulled out from a shopping area and struck the police car.

The cruiser burst into flames but there was no explosion. The officer broke his leg, but Sgt. McBride said he will be fine.

The police car is a total loss.

The SUV remained at the scene. The driver, whose name was not released, faces charges.
