ATLANTA-- Meg King was on her regular morning run through Midtown when she remembered the wave of tweets that swept through the Atlanta running community Monday night.

"You could start to see more and more people headed that way. It was just good to be with other runners," she said. She joined the those headed to the Big Peach Running Company in Midtown. A silent mile was planned for 7:00 in honor of those injured and killed in the Boston Marathon explosions.

Karen Kaye, marketing director of Big Peach, said once theresponsewas so big, they opened all of their metro Atlanta locations for the early. More than 250 runners participated. Many more dedicated their solo runs on social media using the hashtag #SilentMile.
