CUMMING, Ga. -- A DeKalb County Police detective was arrested on Wednesday morning after authorities said he brandished a gun at a Forsyth County McDonald's restaurant.

Deputy Courtney Spriggs of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office saidthat 48-year-oldScott Biumi was arrested just before noon, and charged with aggravated assault.

Spriggs said on April 9, Biumi was in the drive-thru lane of the McDonald's on Old Atlanta Road, when he got upset at another customer who was also in the drive-thru.

Biumi got out of his car, had a verbal argument with the other customer, and then pointed a gun at the victim.

Investigators learned of Biumi's position with the DeKalb County Police Department during their investigation following the incident, Spriggs said.

"Our deputies worked diligently and safely to solve this case. (DeKalb County Police) Chief Alexander and his staff were very professional and cooperative during our investigation into this matter, and we appreciate their assistance," Sheriff Duane Piper said.

Buimiis held at the Forsyth County Detention Center with a bond of $22,000. Spriggs said around 4:15 he was in the process of bonding out.

Buimi is set to appear in court on May 23.
