CUMMING, Ga. -- A Forsyth County man who faced a possible fine for painting a sign on the roof of his barn is claiming victory.
Ben Morris painted a "See Rock City" sign on his barn, and was later told by a county official he violated an ordinance prohibiting roof signs.
Morris argued the sign was already on the roof, but had faded over time.
He said he was just restoring it, to look like the many others that had peppered the rooftops of other barns in the south for decades.
The sign is an advertisement for Rock City in Tennessee.
Morris was in magistrate court Thursday morning, and the Forsyth County attorney asked that the case against him be dropped.
